Convoy Content director Nick Enriquez has been announced as a finalist in two categories for the prestigious Cannes Young Director Award!
The honor, which recognizes emerging international creative talent in commercial film production, is a significant part of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. It offers new directors tremendous opportunities and extraordinary exposure, placing them in a spotlight for the rest of the industry – and the world – to see.
Nick is nominated for his documentary short, Riskie Forever, a visually stunning and powerful portrait of Ronald “Riskie” Brent, the man behind some of hip-hop’s most iconic artwork. The film takes a peek at the life of the Compton-based artist before and after a chance encounter with rapper Tupac Shakur that led him to work at Death Row Records. The dramatic piece is also full of striking imagery, chronicling Riskie’s difficult climb to the top of his career, and discussing what happens “when we grow up and reach for that sunlight.”
